Half-Life 3 Trademarked

In the latest surprise from Valve, and in a move that almost crashed all gaming forums, a long wait has been transformed into optimism with a few words: Half-Life 3 trademarked. It’s not an official announcement of the game itself from Valve and the trademark application was filed in Europe, but this is the biggest piece of news regarding one of the most anticipated games that has been confirmed in years. It was filed on September 29th and is listed as “computer game software” and the ways in which it will be distributed. And with Valve’s push into living room gaming with its upcoming Steam OS and machines, Half-Life 3 could definitely be the added incentive for owning a Steam machine. I’m excited for this since now my replaying of Half-Life 2 will be more than just nostalgia but refreshing my memory or an unbelievable gaming experience in preparation for more news regarding Half-Life 3. Of course I’ll be posting more news as it becomes available. And if you’ve never played a Half-Life game you’re definitely missing out and there are plenty of deals available to get it for cheap too.

UPDATE (10/9/13): The trademark has been removed from the European Union’s OHIM so as of now the state of Half-Life 3 is the same. No information has been released by Valve on whether or not it’s in development or will be in development soon.
