GTA Online Released
Even though it’s currently experiencing technical problems, GTA Online has been released today so you can get started on your quest to dominate Los Santos. Seeing as I’ve been enjoying GTA V there’s no way I would pass on at least checking out GTA Online and getting a taste of it today. GTA Online takes all of the activities available in GTA V and allows you to enjoy them in multiplayer by either working with other players or competing against them. You can carry out jobs in Los Santos with your handpicked crew or create your own jobs for others to perform. Want to play a round of golf with your friends to relax before racing through the streets to see who’ll come in first? No problem. Or maybe you prefer to call the shots behind the scenes and make your money without being noticed. You can do that too because you can bet on a variety of activities, and who will win can either be the result of fair play or one side could have a little extra incentive for a specific result. Do whatever’s necessary to build up your Reputation Points because in the city of Los Santos that’s what matters the most.
I plan on doing a separate review of GTA Online since it’ll be just as massive as GTA V. And despite server problems that prevented me from getting in to perform any activities, I was able to create my character. You actually have to choose your character’s heritage by selecting your grandparents character models and then adjust the sliders to tweak how your character actually looks. You do get to customize a little bit more in terms of facial hair, etc. but the heritage was an interesting take on things. And instead of having skill points to assign to different skills, you have to define your character’s lifestyle based on the 24 hours in a day. So you pick how many hours in a day you sleep, spend with family or friends, sports, partying and this directly affects your stamina, strength, and every other trait. Of course all of this will change as you play and level up your Reputation Points but Rockstar is going all out with the fully immersive experience here. After creating my character I was greeted by Lamar at the airport picking me up and it was a humorous exchange. That was pretty much it as nothing else would load up for me after being dropped off by Lamar but I’m definitely looking forward to getting into GTA Online and enjoying all it has to offer.
