Imperium #4 has a mysterious being possessing Angela Peace’s body known as Broken Angel designing a secret device for Project Rising Spirit. Disaster struck when she was leading a team of 3 with a psiot named Center Point with the ability to access higher dimensions. The mission was for them to explore these higher dimensions to understand the power as well as recording their observations on the way to a mysterious crystalline structure. And the mission seemed to be a success until they encounter an unusual being that opens a portal to another dimension and snatches Angela. It removes her eyes completely as if they never existed and returns her body to her terrified companions before they can return. The being possessing Angela goes by the name Broken Angel, and gives a message of peace declaring that “all is absolute perfection.” But who or what is this being possessing Angela, and what could a being from a higher dimension want with Project Rising Spirit? And how will this impact Gravedog’s treatment considering he was sent back by Harada’s forces?
SUMMARY
Imperium #4 is an engrossing issue that introduces an intriguing new character while raising the stakes greatly for both Project Rising Spirit and Harada. The majority of this issue seems to depart from recent developments with Harada and Gravedog but ultimately ties back into their respective goals. The introduction of higher dimensions through a psiot is fascinating, and creates so much potential going forward. And the conclusion of this issue means that things are only beginning to heat up, and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one.
