Terminator Salvation: The Final Battle #11 continues with John Connor undergoing a procedure with the help of Dr. Kogan to be able to directly control a terminator. It opens up with Marcus Wright and the other troops waiting for some kind of signal to determine if John Connor was either successful or failed in his mission. Considering things have been relatively quiet, Marcus leans towards the possibility of success but still wants everyone to be prepared to evacuate in case of an emergency. However, John Connor’s mission isn’t over and Dr. Kogan is just implementing the final steps of the operation that would clone his consciousness into a terminator. She does warn him about the dangers of such a procedure and the harm of his mind running in his body and the terminator at the same time. He has no choice but to go ahead with it despite his anxiety running high but Dr. Kogan understands and still has a part of her humanity. She is able to complete the final steps successfully, and John Connor is able to assume control over a terminator. But with Parnell in control over the entire terminator army what can Connor do with just one considering Parnell is aware of this?
SUMMARY
Terminator Salvation: The Final Battle #11 is a decent issue that moves the story forward with its climatic battle between Connor and Parnell. In a way, Connor’s fight has always been about Parnell considering his role in past events, and I’m still torn about that. It was interesting to see another side of Connor prior to the operation, as well as Dr. Kogan’s reaction, giving more depth to the characters and the overall situation. Despite feeling that a lot of potential was squandered throughout this series I am very curious to see how it concludes, especially considering the surprises this issue.
