13 Coins #2

The good
The Fallen and Sons of Noah storyline is still very intriguing in general. Story progression almost guarantees Pozner's role will be made clear next issue
-
The bad
Execution felt off with characters making puzzling decisions. One of the biggest developments is almost glossed over as if no big deal.

The ugly

13 Coins #2 has John Pozner learning the truth about his nature and the war that has been raging for millennia. He’s not the only one that has been unaware of this war as the Fallen would seek to strengthen their control over events by targeting a U.S. Senator who they believe will be good for their cause. His political beliefs are in line with wanting more injustice in the country and he clearly has a superiority complex. But he also has secrets, so when the Fallen burst into his hotel room and find him with 2 prostitutes they tell him that they’re not planning on killing him, and actually want to protect him. He just has to join them. They’re not the only ones recruiting as John Pozner is finally approached by Samuel but only to make initial contact and confirm his identity. He doesn’t tell John who he is but he’s recognized by a cop because of the APB that just went out. Samuel was hesitant about making contact with John and informing him about the truth but it seems as if things will come to a head either way. But will they be prepared for the Fallen or has too many things been set in motion at this point?
SUMMARY
13 Coins #2 is an uneven issue that builds on the fascinating concept of the Fallen and the Sons of Noah but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. John Pozner’s importance was stressed since last issue, and what was troubling wasn’t that I believed all the answers should’ve been given by now but that importance wasn’t reflected in any of the characters’ actions. And as a result the shocking turn of events didn’t feel as engrossing as it should have been. However I’m still looking forward to next issue and seeing more of this world and the truth behind the scenes.
