Terminator Salvation: The Final Battle #6
-
The good
Mildly interesting parallel drawn between Parnell and the Terminators. Dr. Kogan's backup plan
-
The bad
The story is still very lackluster with the resistance still going through motions of already established events. Skynet's characterization (computerization?) is very puzzling and lacking
-
The ugly
- Total score
Terminator Salvation: The Final Battle #6 has John Connor and the resistance trying to hold off the terminators infused with a newfound brutality from being under the control of Thomas Parnell. And it’s important that no terminators get near the time door because Connor is working on sending back in time a terminator that is familiar to him, and responsible for protecting him and his mother when he was younger. However it’s far from an easy task as human casualties have been rising since Parnell took control. But Skynet is concerned about conceding that control to Parnell because the terminators are being destroyed at an increased rate too and Parnell couldn’t care less about that. And with his control over the terminators being at 40% of the total force and rising, Skynet is running out of time. So it turns to Dr. Kogan once again for help and she confirms that Parnell is indeed unstable because he’s a serial killer and Skynet shouldn’t have expected anything less. Will Parnell become an even bigger threat than Skynet, and if he does, will the resistance even stand a chance against him?
SUMMARY
Terminator Salvation: The Final Battle #6 is another disappointing issue that takes the story nowhere and the very brief interesting moments are dwarfed by the overall lackluster story that is all over the place. And instead of inspiring confidence about where this series is headed when a character states that everything from this point forward is up in the air as to what could happen, I wonder why it has taken so long and the ending suggests otherwise. I don’t know if this series can turn a corner but the resistance has more hope to succeed than I do about where the story is headed.
