Here we are everyone, the first story arc has come to end. Quick recap: Elden is on the loose, Angela was looking to receive help from Galgo, who decided to save himself thus leaving Angela on her own.  This series is yet to disappoint me, but a finale can be a tough task to satisfy the readers. Thankfully, I was not let down.

Prometheus Fire and Stone #4 starts off with Elden and his pet xenomorphs ransacking the Helios.  There are few things more glorious in horror/sci-fi than a pack of xenos tearing up some helpless victims. This brawl takes place in the ship as well as the treacherous jungle of LV-223 as parts of the crew attempt to make an escape.
As this chaos is taking place, Angela and what’s left of the crew take shelter in the wreckage of the crashed spaceship. I enjoyed this section as a small piece of the mystery of the Engineers was revealed. What were they doing on that ship? We find out a little bit, and it’s pretty cool. The sheer precision by which one Engineer dispatches a large group of xenos is impressive, and it also leads me to believe that they did create these creatures. That is just my theory however.
Elden and his friends take over the Helios, setting the stage for the other books.  Some of the later issues might be worth revisiting now, as we know the full story behind everything.  This story does not have a happy ending, but a satisfying one. Of course, it leaves just enough for the story to continue.

    SUMMARY

First, I’d like to extend kudos to the team of Paul Tobin and Juan Ferreyra for putting together four excellent issues concluding in Prometheus Fire and Stone #4. Part one had a bit of a slow start but the story picked up soon after that. They did a fantastic job expanding the Prometheus universe, as they answered old questions while setting up new ones. The story, artwork and script all had purpose and care for the source material. I can’t say enough good things, now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to re-watch Prometheus.
