Well. It’s been an interesting month for us Alien fans. The fandom has gone haywire since Alien Covenant released. Whether you enjoyed the movie or not, I hope you’ve all enjoyed the experience. But the franchise goes on, as does Dark Horse Comics. Aliens Defiance #12 does an excellent job in keeping the interest going.
Spoilers Below
Deep in the heart of Weyland-Yutani, chances are looking grim for our heroes. Hollis’s fate is sealed. Unable to secure a live xenomorph specimen they use her to draw out another. Despite the successful surgery, residue still remains inside her and The Company wants it. Perhaps this is a procedure David used himself with Shaw? You fought the good fight Hollis; your efforts were greatly appreciated.
Weyland-Yutani is a large part of this issue and I loved it. It’s an under-represented story aspect in the movies, and I enjoy any peek into their world. Here we get a glimpse into their world and how it works. Their arrogance and will to do whatever is necessary to obtain a specimen is immeasurable. Whatever happens in the next Alien movie, I hope it shows more of this.
SUMMARY
After a bit of a stumble last issue, Aliens Defiance #12 rebounds nicely. Lots of loose ends are tied up and momentum is built for the rest of the story. Hendricks has a new fight ahead of her; I can’t wait to see what she is going to do next. Until then, stay frosty…
