Alien vs. Predator: Fire and Stone #3

  • The good

The morphing Francis and Elden relationship

  • The bad

Will the infected Predator be badass or cheesy

  • The ugly

  • *Some spoilers ahead, They are tough to avoid at this stage*

When we last left Francis and his buddy Elden, Francis had realized that Elden was the key to curing his illness. During the previous encounter Elden’s “blood” infected a Predator, creating a new type of horror. Suffice to say, Alien vs. Predator: Fire and Stone #3 is filled with all sorts of carnage and weirdness.

Our two main characters, Elden and Francis both find themselves in precarious positions. Once lord and master of the xenomorphs, they begin to viciously attack as he helplessly threatens them. At one time he looked unstoppable, Elden now seems to be feeling the negative effects of the accelerant.
Francis finds himself on the wrong end of a Predator beating, however he is spared due to his declining health. The Predator lets Francis go, as he goes to hunt bigger game, but he will find out soon enough, that a dying man is the most dangerous type.  Elden finally begins to turn the tides on his xeno, engaging in a wonderful brawl.

Soon enough we have all out warfare as the Predator joins the fray, Elden and the hunter begin taking apart the xenomorphs together but separate. This is about where it all gets crazy. Elden has a memorable encounter with the Predator and Francis makes a regretful decision. The wild card in this whole scenario is the Infected Predator. How dangerous will he become after the accelerant runs though him? We get a glimpse in the last panel as we head into the finale.

    SUMMARY

In Alien vs. Predator: Fire and Stone #3 the sheer desperation from the main protagonists was evident, and it was executed nicely. Francis is willing to do whatever it takes to cure his sickness; Elden is willing to do whatever it takes to get to Elden. And there were some great moments with the Predator as well.
