Hobbit Kingdoms of Middle Earth Ascension

The Hobbit Kingdoms of Middle Earth has new game play features and other additions since its latest update.  Below are the new features:

  • New Campaign Chapters: Battle Goblins, Orcs, and Trolls as you battle towards Mirkwood
  • Runcrafting available in First and Second Cities up to level 7
  • New Activation Troop Training Speed Up Buff is now available through City Guardian
  • Various Tournament of Might and Troops Killed events giving out awards and chests
  • New Tier 5 troops available through in-game Tournaments

The new campaign chapters are designed the same way as the previous campaign chapters and if you’re unsure if you should participate in them check out my review of the campaign mode. There is a difference and that’s in the rewards you receive for every campaign battle you win. You win either Light Metal or Amber and they can be used to craft Swift Stones, which increase your City Guardian’s training speed Buffs so you can train your troops faster. And there are 5 levels of Swift Stones so you’ll need the corresponding Light Metal and Amber to craft that particular Swift Stone. For example, to craft Swift Stone I, you’ll need 12 Light Metal I and 3 Amber I.

This can be handy if you’re training Tier 4 troops but with Tier 5 troops now available you might want to prepare for that. You can either win Tier 5 troops through in-game tournaments and events, or you can purchase chests that give you a chance to win Tier 5 troops or contained guaranteed Tier 5 troops. For Dwarves they’re Supply Columns, Grim Hammers, Riders of Erebor and Crossbow Warriors. For Elves they’re Supply Columns, Elven Rangers, Riders of Rivendell and Galahdrim Archers.

Runecrafting has also received a boost and buildings can now be runecrafted up to level *7. Runecrafting allows for buildings to be leveled up past level 10 and you use Forge Runes to increase them to level *6. After that you have to acquire enough Forge Runes (from campaign battles) to create Ascension Runes, which can then be used to increase your buildings to level *7. Of course you can purchase everything in the store but doing so is not necessary.

Is there a listing of all buildings that can be runecrafted? I understand those required for Tr4 units (I’ve already unlocked Great Eagles), but are there more buildings that can go higher? So far I know that forge, armory, academy, stable, and great hall all end at Lv10. Can the embassy, tavern, sage’s tower, vault, or muster field go higher?

It’s my understanding that they stop at 10 also. I’m not entirely sure about the Sage’s Tower yet because mine is currently in the process of being upgraded and I have 4 more days to go before it’s completely. However based on the building types that can be runecrafted, either producing resources or troops, I don’t think I’ll be able to runecraft the Sage’s tower either

Thank you for your reply. It took me some doing, but with much more web searching I have discovered that: embassy, tavern, and sage’s tower stop upgrading at Lv10. Vault and muster field, on the other hand, can be runecrafted to *Lv11. They add to rss protection and increases attacking army size. So all building that can be runecrafted are: Keep, City Wall, Home, Barracks, Vault, Muster Field, Farm, Arboretum, Ore Vein, and Quarry.

If you ever drop into our world please let me know I would like your take on the alliance setup I’ve been working on – I’ve taken a lot of time turning our alliance wall into a major listing of game play info and tips…

Thank you for a very nicely detailed and well laid out website of info… You have been greatly helpful.

Thanks for visiting and the info! I try to detail as much as I can from my time playing so I appreciate this and I’m glad it could help. I will definitely let you know if I join that world. I’m currently in Fili50 and my current Alliance’s name is International. They’ve been pretty helpful.

My sages tower does not show Ascension Rune conversion options. Could it be that it does not show initially until I acquire enough forge runes to do the conversion? I currently have 1805 Forge Runes. But one building i have, the Vault, is rune crafted up to *6. I cannot get it past *6 since I need ascension runes.

This seems to be a problem for some others as well and it’s been suggested that Ascension runes aren’t available on all the servers yet. If that’s the case then you have to wait for the update. What level is your sages tower?

The ascension rune crafting ability must not be available on all servers yet. I do not have that option in my sage tower. So my buildings are stuck at *6 until it’s fixed.

Ah ok, that makes sense. It used to be the same until the update that introduced ascension runes. Hopefully you’ll have that update soon

Hi, thank you for your fast reply. Sorry but the 4 Buttons that i can see in your image doesn’t appear at my sage tower. Maybe this is because i play on a german server or i have to install the Game again. I try this and let u know 🙂

Hi, i don’t have such a Button in my Sage’s Tower. Could it be that for the Appearance of the Button U have to have another Building at Level 10 (for example the base)?

No, you’re not required to have any specific building at lvl 10 in order to see that button. Below is the image you should first see when you click on the Sage’s Tower. When you click on Ascension Rune you should see the image in the other comment that’ll allow you to exchange forge runes for ascension runes. Let me know if this helps

Hi, if you want to change your forge runes to ascension runes you have to select your Sage’s Tower and then click on the relics tab. You should see Ascension Rune and when you select that you’ll see the number of Forge Runes you have and how many you need before you can transform them into Ascension Runes. When you have enough the claim button will be highlighted for selection. Here’s a pic to help
